From sex to politics, Habib boldly draws his inspiration from everyday Lebanese concerns, often spawned from political events. “Democracy now showing” and “1975-2005, c’est fini la comedie” (”the show is over”) did very well in the midst of the massive demonstrations demanding the withdrawal of the Syrian army in 2005. “The point is to have something for everybody,” says Habib. “There are always indirect political messages, but each side understands it as it wishes. We have never had a problem, as we address educated people with a unifying message. At least, that’s what we hope to do.”
