Bahrain-based ACT Ltd., a subsidiary of Qatar’s leading mobile telephone operator, Qtel, has announced the appointment of Bassam Hannoun as chief executive officer for ACT-Jordan. Hannoun has worked for 17 years in the telecoms industry in the Middle East, Europe and Africa. “We have an exciting and innovative project ahead of us. The team in Amman is currently finalizing the setup to deploy the WiMAX network across Jordan,” said Hannoun. WiMAX is the newest broadband wireless data technology.
