Deena HabibSun Microsystems Middle East and North Africa has announced the appointment of Deena Habib to the position of marketing manager for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. Habib will be responsible for the positioning and promotion of the Sun Microsystems brand across 19 countries, including Saudi Arabia, the Gulf states, countries of the Levant, Pakistan and Egypt. She will oversee the marketing of Sun Microsystems’ products and services, which will entail handling PR and marketing communications, direct marketing, and events. Habib’s career at Sun Microsystems spans three years, during which time she functioned as the systems practice program manager, directing all system programs as well as the AMD Advantage program budget. She also held the position of marketing specialist for the MENA region and was responsible for the promotion of Sun Microsystems’ channel development program to increase revenues through the company’s partner community. Habib, a graduate in telecoms engineering, has spent 18 years in the Middle East. She has held various marketing positions in the region including at IBM and Cable & Wireless.
